AIGI 17-7 Flange Disc Springs

AIGI 17-7 Flange Disc Springs are preload disc springs made from 17-7 stainless spring steel for bolted joints in corrosive environments, indoors or outdoors. They maintain bolt load on valves, pipe flanges and heat exchangers from very cold service through to moderate heat.

Product Benefits

  • Corrosion resistant: The 17-7 material suits corrosive surroundings, and a nickel-plated finish can be supplied for extra protection.
  • Wide temperature span: They perform from cryogenic temperatures up to moderate heat, covering cold and warm service alike.
  • Holds the joint tight: The spring compensates for gasket relaxation, bolt creep and vibration, keeping preload steady.
  • Less maintenance: Joints stay sealed for longer, cutting the need to re-torque bolts.

Where It's Used

  • Valves: Bolted valve joints in corrosive service.
  • Pipe flanges: Flanged pipework indoors or outdoors that is exposed to corrosive conditions.
  • Heat exchangers: Bolted heat exchanger joints in corrosive environments.

Good to Know

  • Mind the bolt stress: AIGI specifies a recommended upper limit on bolt internal stress for these springs, so check the bolting design when selecting them.
  • Highly magnetic: 17-7 flange disc springs are highly magnetic.
  • Plating to specification: The nickel plating is supplied to the AMS 2424 specification.
