AIGI 22MSC Multi-Silicone-Core High-Temperature Packing
AIGI 22MSC is a high-purity carbon-fibre gland packing reinforced with multiple resilient silicone-rubber cores. The elastic cores give the braid excellent memory, so it recovers its shape and keeps sealing even when the shaft moves radially or vibrates. It is built for high-temperature pump and valve service.

- Built-in spring action: The multiple silicone-rubber cores act like built-in springs, letting the packing follow radial shaft motion where conventional braids relax under vibration and need repeated gland tightening.
- Minimal gland adjustment: Leakage stays under control with very little gland adjustment, and the packing is easy to install and run in.

Where It's Used
- Hot pumps and valves: 22MSC is intended for high-temperature pump and valve service, covering both rotating and static duties around a plant.
- Broad media range: It seals steam, water and solvents as well as acids and alkalies across a wide pH range, making it a versatile choice.
- High shaft speeds: It copes with high shaft surface speeds on pumps and also serves reciprocating equipment.
- Higher valve pressures: On valve stems it withstands considerably higher pressures than in rotating pump duty.
Good to Know
- Black composite braid: The braid is black, combining carbon and graphite fibre with the multi-silicone-core construction.
- Pressure depends on motion: As with most packings, the allowable pressure depends on the type of motion: static valve service tolerates far more than a rotating shaft, with reciprocating duty in between.
- Single-core alternative: Where radial motion is less severe, the sister grade AIGI 22SC uses a single silicone core instead.
- When to pick multi-core: Choose the multi-core version when vibration or shaft run-out is the dominant problem in the stuffing box.
