SuperChem 861 Anti-Seize Lubricant
SuperChem 861 is a non-carbonizing anti-seize lubricant blended from ultrafine inorganic particles in a synthetic oil base. Applied at assembly, it prevents galling, seizing and corrosion on threaded fasteners and mating metal parts even at extremely high temperatures, so they come apart cleanly when maintenance day arrives.
Product Benefits
- Prevents seized studs: Every maintenance crew knows the cost of a seized stud: sheared bolts, drilled-out threads, extended downtime. A thin coat of 861 at assembly prevents that fight.
- Non-carbonizing solid film: The lubricating solid film keeps threads and mating faces separated and does not carbonize with heat, so joints that have baked through years of service still release with normal tooling.
- Anodic corrosion protection: Beyond easing disassembly, 861 acts as an anodic treatment between the surfaces, helping to prevent the corrosion that welds dissimilar metals together in hot, humid plant environments.
Where It's Used
- Hot threaded joints: Its natural territory is threaded parts and mating surfaces that face heat: bolts, studs, flanges and fittings.
- Hot equipment everywhere: Hot piping, furnaces, exhaust systems and process equipment are its typical settings.
- Assemble now, open later: Anywhere a joint will be hot in service and must still be opened later is a candidate for 861.
Good to Know
- Ultrafine inorganic particles: 861 is silver-grey; its ultrafine inorganic particles are what keep working after the oil carrier has done its job at assembly.
- Survives extreme heat: The solid film survives temperatures at which conventional lubricants burn away.
- Extreme contact pressures: It tolerates extreme contact pressures, so heavily torqued joints stay protected.
- Adjust torque practice: Apply it sparingly to clean threads; anti-seize alters the friction of a bolted joint, so follow your torque practice for lubricated fasteners rather than dry values.
