SuperChem BSQ1 Epoxy Coating
SuperChem BSQ1 is a solvent-free, low-viscosity epoxy coating that cures fully solid into a medium-to-thick protective film. It shields tanks, pumps, pipework and other plant equipment from erosion, corrosion and wear in both gaseous and liquid environments.

- Solvent-free curing: Being completely solvent-free, BSQ1 cures without shrinkage-prone evaporation and releases no VOCs, which makes it well suited to large-scale refurbishment work.
- Thick build in one pass: Its anti-sagging formulation lets a substantial film build up in one pass, even on vertical surfaces.
- Hard, chemically robust film: The cured coating is hard, strong and chemically robust, standing up to strong acids and alkalis as well as combined erosion and wear.
- Upgrade instead of replace: It offers a practical way to upgrade both new and aged equipment in chemically aggressive service instead of replacing it.
Where It's Used
- Tanks, pumps and pipework: Typical duties include tanks and vessels, pump casings, impellers and blades, valves, pipes and fittings, heat exchangers and structural steel.
- Broad-area protection: It is chosen wherever a plant needs broad-area protection against corrosion and erosion in chemically aggressive environments.
- New or aged equipment: It serves equally well for protecting new equipment and restoring old.
Good to Know
- Two-component system: BSQ1 is mixed at a set ratio and applied by scraping, brushing, rolling or, where conditions permit, spraying.
- Bonds to rigid surfaces: It bonds tenaciously to any rigid surface and is supplied in black or gray.
- Dry, warm service: It is rated for dry service at moderately elevated temperatures.
- Pairs with GQM: For prefilling deep pits, cracks or weld seams before coating, it pairs with the ceramic-reinforced SuperChem GQM from the same family.
