AXP High-Pressure Brazed Plate Heat Exchanger
The Alfa Laval AXP is a family of high-pressure copper-brazed plate heat exchangers, offered in a range of sizes to suit different capacities. Reinforced with thin external carbon steel frames, it is built to withstand very high operating pressures and is particularly well suited to CO2 transcritical duties.

Good to Know
- Plates and frame: The heat transfer plates are stainless steel joined by copper brazing, while the external frame is zinc-electroplated carbon steel.
- Connections and approvals: Connections are available as external thread, soldering or welding, and the design tolerates full vacuum while carrying PED and UL approvals.
- Sealed for life: As with any brazed unit it cannot be opened for service, so clean, filtered circuits are important for long life.
- Documentation per size: Each size in the family has its own leaflet.
