TS50M Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger

The Alfa Laval TS50M is a large gasketed plate heat exchanger from the Industrial line, designed for high throughput with excellent thermal performance. Its short-plate format suits duties where big flows need heating or cooling with limited pressure drop. Heat transfer area is reconfigured simply by adding or removing plates.

Good to Know

  • Stainless or titanium plates: Plates are offered in 316 stainless steel and titanium, the latter a proven choice for seawater and other chloride-rich cooling media.
  • Gaskets, frame and ports: Gaskets come in NBR, EPDM and HNBR elastomers, and the frame and cover are epoxy-painted carbon steel with studded ports to ASME, EN and JIS flange practice.
  • Plan the access: For large units like this, give some thought to lifting access and clearance for opening the frame during maintenance planning.
  • Strong marine candidate: Titanium plates paired with the right elastomer make it a strong candidate for coastal and marine cooling applications.
