Dia-Flo Pneumatic Actuator

Dia-Flo pneumatic actuators are rugged, close-coupled airmotor actuators for Dia-Flo weir and straightway diaphragm valves. With only a reinforced diaphragm and O-rings as wear parts, they are built for a very long service life in continuous plant duty.

Product Benefits

  • Few wearing parts: The only wearing components are a nylon-reinforced, oil-resistant elastomer diaphragm and Buna N O-rings.
  • Very little to fail: With so little subject to wear, maintenance stays minimal over decades of service.
  • Three operating modes: Fail-open, fail-close and double-acting versions are offered.
  • Interchangeable sizes: Sizes interchange across those modes, so one actuator family covers both simple on/off duties and automatic throttling.

Where It's Used

  • Plant-wide valve automation: These actuators automate diaphragm valves throughout chemical, water and general process plants.
  • Weir and straightway bodies: Both body styles are supported.
  • Spring return for safe failure: Spring-return modes suit services that must fail to a safe open or closed position on air loss.
  • Double-acting control: The double-acting series handles fully air-driven on/off and modulating control.

Good to Know

  • Motor case materials: Motor cases come in aluminum or ductile iron.
  • Ordinary plant air: The actuator runs on ordinary plant air within its rated supply pressure.
  • Sized, not oversized: A range of sizes lets the actuator be matched to valve size and shutoff needs rather than oversized by default.
  • Matching accessories: Positioners, solenoid valves and limit switches from the same Dia-Flo range complete a fully automated package.
