ITT Engineered Valves
Dia-Flo Positioner
The Dia-Flo positioner turns a pneumatically actuated Dia-Flo diaphragm valve into a true throttling control valve. It holds the actuator stem stably and accurately at the commanded position, giving precise, repeatable control of flow.
Product Benefits
- Precise intermediate positions: Without a positioner, an actuated valve can only approximate intermediate positions.
- Tracks the control signal: With one fitted, stem position follows the control signal closely even as friction and line forces vary.
- Stable throttling: The result is accurate throttling suited to flow-control and dosing loops.
- Pneumatic through digital: Options span simple pneumatic units through digital positioners with fieldbus communication, so the same valve can serve both conventional and modern control architectures.
Where It's Used
- Modulating duties: Positioners are applied wherever Dia-Flo diaphragm valves modulate flow rather than simply open and close.
- Chemical feed and blending: Chemical feed, blending and other throttling loops in process and water treatment plants are typical.
- Fieldbus integration: Digital fieldbus versions integrate directly with plant automation systems.
Good to Know
- Three versions: Available versions include pneumatic positioners, gauge-equipped pneumatic units, and digital positioners with fieldbus protocol.
- Local position indicator: A position indicator is furnished as standard on every positioner-equipped valve, giving local visual confirmation alongside the remote signal.
- Decide the signal early: Selection mainly follows the plant's control signal and integration needs, so decide early whether pneumatic or digital communication fits the control system.
