Fabri-Valve CF134 Bonneted Knife Gate Valve

The Fabri-Valve C/F134 is a bonneted knife gate valve built for difficult services where an ordinary transverse stem seal wears out too quickly. By sealing around the stem with cylindrical packing inside a bonnet, it delivers high-cycle stem sealing and superior containment of the process media.

Product Benefits

  • Stem seal that lasts: In high-cycle or hazardous services, the stem seal is often the first point of leakage on a knife gate valve. The C/F134's cylindrical packing wraps uniformly around the stem for a tighter seal.
  • Easier maintenance: Cylindrical packing is also simpler to maintain than the conventional flat packing used on standard knife gates.
  • Media stays contained: The bonneted design contains the media above the gate rather than letting it escape past the stem.
  • Containment options: Optional features push containment further: a metal backseat on the stem, a gate wiper, and purge ports in the bonnet to flush solids away.
  • Tested before shipment: Every valve is shell, seat, and cycle tested before it leaves the factory.

Where It's Used

  • Difficult isolation duties: The C/F134 is chosen for frequently cycled automated lines and for media that must not escape to atmosphere.
  • Hot services: It handles hot duties well beyond the reach of standard knife gates, with special designs available for extremely high temperatures.
  • Small to very large: The range spans small line sizes up to very large fabricated diameters.
  • Metal or resilient seats: Both metal seats and a full range of resilient replaceable seats are offered, so the same bonneted platform serves clean, abrasive, or hot services alike.
  • Full actuation choice: Actuation runs from handwheel and bevel gear to cylinders and electric actuators.

Good to Know

  • Alloys for severe corrosion: Standard bodies come in several stainless steel grades, with special alloys such as 254 SMO and Hastelloy C available for severe corrosion.
  • Matched gate and stem: The gate and stem match the body material, keeping the wetted parts consistent.
  • High-temperature packing: Packing is a PTFE and graphite combination suited to elevated temperatures.
  • Hottest designs: Very hot services require high-temperature fasteners, and the hottest designs should be confirmed with the factory.
  • When to upgrade: If your line cycles constantly or leaks at the stem are unacceptable, the bonneted C/F134 is the upgrade path from a standard knife gate.
