ITT Engineered Valves
Fabri-Valve Electric Actuator
The Fabri-Valve electric actuator package automates Fabri-Valve knife gate and slide gate valves for remote open/close operation. Rather than a one-size-fits-all unit, it is configured to the installation: operating current, enclosure, switches and controls are all selected to suit the site.
Product Benefits
- No plant air needed: Electric actuation removes the need for plant air at the valve.
- Clean, repeatable operation: Open and close commands come straight from the control system and repeat the same way every time.
- Relief for hard-to-work valves: That is valuable on remote lines and on large gate valves that are slow and laborious to operate by hand.
- Configured to the valve: Because the package is built around the specific valve and duty, it avoids the reliability problems of a generic actuator bolted onto a demanding slurry valve.
Where It's Used
- Slurry and bulk solids valves: These packages are used wherever Fabri-Valve knife gate and slide gate valves handle slurry and bulk solids and need automated or remote operation.
- Large or elevated valves: They suit valves that are oversized or mounted out of easy reach.
- Frequent cycling: Duties that call for frequent open and close cycles are a natural fit.
- Control system integration: They also serve valves integrated into plant control systems.
Good to Know
- Configurable electricals: Operating current, enclosure type, and controls, starters and switches are all selectable.
- Position feedback: Limit switches can be fitted to report valve position.
- Smarter stem threads: Specifying an increased stem thread lead or pitch reduces the turns needed per stroke and can permit a smaller electric actuator.
- Sized case by case: Actuator selection and sizing depend on the valve and its service conditions, so the factory should be consulted for each application.
