Fabri-Valve F44 Multi-Port Knife Gate Valve

The Fabri-Valve F44 is a multi-port knife gate valve that combines diverting and isolating functions in a single fabricated body. By replacing two conventional valves and a pipe "Y" with one unit, it saves space, weight, and cost in bulk-handling and slurry distribution systems.

Product Benefits

  • One unit, not three: A conventional diverting arrangement puts two knife gates on a pipe "Y", which is bulky and expensive.
  • Dead leg minimized: That conventional arrangement also leaves a dead leg where material stagnates between the branch and the closed valve. The F44 positions its gates to meet right at the intersection, minimizing the dead leg and the plugging and contamination problems that come with it.
  • Built to your layout: Because the body is a custom fabrication, face-to-face dimensions, flange drilling, leg angles, and actuator orientation are all built to your piping layout.
  • Piping stays as designed: The valve accommodates the pipework rather than forcing the pipework to accommodate the valve.

Where It's Used

  • One stream, several destinations: The F44 suits bulk-handling and process systems that route one stream to alternate destinations. A typical unit has one inlet feeding two, three, or more outlets in "Y" or lateral configurations.
  • Combining as well as dividing: The flexible design platform also accommodates multiple inlets, making it useful for combining lines, not only splitting them.
  • Heavy stainless wetted parts: Wetted components in heavy wrought stainless steel handle slurries and process media across general industry.
  • Actuation per gate: Each gate can be driven by handwheel, bevel gear, chainwheel, cylinder, or electric actuator.

Good to Know

  • Matched stainless construction: Body, chest, and gate are supplied in matching stainless steel grades, with hard-faced integral stainless seats available for abrasive duty.
  • Yoke to suit the site: Yokes come in carbon steel or stainless steel versions depending on the environment.
  • Engineered to order: Since every F44 is engineered to order, the practical step is to share your line sizes, leg angles, and space constraints early, and the valve is then fabricated around the installation.
  • Temperature range: Standard temperature capability is generous, and hotter services can be reviewed with the factory.
