Pure-Flo Bio-Tek Manual Bonnet

The Pure-Flo Bio-Tek manual bonnet is a compact, lightweight handwheel topworks for small Bio-Tek diaphragm valve bodies, most often serving as sample or drain points in biopharmaceutical systems. It is autoclavable and built from 316 stainless steel with a polymer handwheel.

Product Benefits

  • Built for sample points: Sample and drain valves are numerous on a biopharm skid, so their topworks need to be small, light and easy to sterilize. That is exactly this bonnet's brief.
  • Adjustable travel stop: An adjustable travel stop prevents over-compression of the diaphragm.
  • Longer diaphragm life: Limiting compression extends diaphragm life and keeps shutoff consistent between operators.
  • Sealed variant: The sealed variant adds FDA-compliant fluoropolymer O-rings for duties that call for extra protection.

Where It's Used

  • Point-of-use ends: It is used on Bio-Tek type bodies at the small point-of-use ends of hygienic systems.
  • Sample and drain ports: Typical duties are sample ports, drain points and similar low-volume connections in biopharmaceutical and other high-purity processes.
  • Off-line sterilization: The autoclavable construction suits components that are removed and sterilized off-line.

Good to Know

  • Stainless steel internals: The bonnet, spindle and compressor are all stainless steel.
  • Autoclavable handwheel: The handwheel is PES, a polymer chosen to withstand autoclaving.
  • Pressure and temperature: The bonnet is rated for typical hygienic service pressures at steam-sterilization temperatures, with a separate limit on external temperature.
  • Bio-Tek bodies only: It fits Bio-Tek type bodies only, so confirm body compatibility when ordering spares or upgrades.
