ITT Goulds Pumps
3620i / 3640i API 610 (BB2)
The Goulds 3620i / 3640i is a radially split, one- and two-stage, between-bearings process pump conforming to API 610 / ISO 13709 as a type BB2 machine. Its radially split, dual-volute casing is made for hot and volatile fluids, giving refineries and process plants a robust pump where temperatures and pressures rule out lighter designs.
Product Benefits
- Sealed through temperature swings: A radially split casing with integrally flanged connections retains its sealing integrity through wide temperature swings, which is exactly what hot, volatile services demand.
- Balanced hydraulic loads: The dual-volute design balances radial loads, and precision-cast impellers are balanced to a fine ISO grade.
- Opposed-impeller 3640i: The 3640i variant adds an opposed-impeller arrangement that minimizes axial loading for longer thrust-bearing life.
- Clean bearing lubrication: Patented bearing oil filtration keeps the lubricant clean while the pump runs.
Where It's Used
- Refining and petrochemicals: The family serves petroleum refining, petrochemical and chemical processing, and other high-temperature or high-pressure industrial duties.
- Mill boiler services: In pulp and paper mills it is applied to boiler circulation, boiler feed, and high-temperature process services.
- Uptime payback: A between-bearings API design pays for itself in uptime on these demanding duties.
Good to Know
- Low-NPSH option: An optional double-suction first stage is available to lower NPSH requirements when suction conditions are tight.
- Nozzle orientations: Top-top nozzles are standard, with side-side and side-top orientations optional.
- High-pressure flanges: Flanges come in higher pressure classes with raised-face or ring-joint facings.
- Seals and bearings: Seal chambers conform to API 610 dimensions for API 682 cartridge seals, and bearing options range from anti-friction to fully hydrodynamic.
