ITT Goulds Pumps
3296 EZMAG Magnetically Driven Chemical Process Pump
The Goulds 3296 EZMAG is a metal, magnetically driven sealless chemical process pump built to ANSI B73.1 dimensional standards. Its defining feature is a modular bearing cartridge that gathers the wear parts into one assembly, making a sealless pump genuinely easy to maintain.
Product Benefits
- One-cartridge servicing: Sealless pumps eliminate the mechanical seal along with its leaks, flush plans and emissions, but they can be fiddly to service; the EZMAG answers that with a single bearing cartridge containing the silicon carbide radial and thrust bearings, so the wear parts come out as one unit.
- Dry-run protection: Optional DryGuard bearings add protection against dry running, a common cause of magnetic-drive failures.
- Robust containment: A deep-drawn, one-piece Hastelloy C containment shell with a very high burst margin isolates the pumpage, while the heavy-duty casing includes a built-in corrosion allowance.
- Compliance and uptime: Zero-emission operation and double back pull-out construction round out a design aimed at both compliance and uptime.
Where It's Used
- Caustic and thermal fluids: Typical services are caustic (sodium hydroxide) and heat-transfer fluids, duties where leakage is unacceptable and temperatures can run high.
- Hotter than lined pumps: Its metal construction suits it to hotter services than lined sealless pumps can take.
- Mill chemical transfer: Fluindo supplies the 3296 EZMAG for the pulp and paper industry, for chemical transfer and thermal-fluid duties around the mill.
Good to Know
- Configuration options: The pump comes frame-mounted, or close-coupled in the S group, with an enclosed impeller and a cast iron bearing frame.
- Magnet selection: Neodymium Iron magnets are standard, with Samarium Cobalt available for higher-temperature services, a selection detail worth checking against the actual process temperature.
- Drop-in ANSI replacement: ANSI B73.1 dimensions mean it can replace a conventionally sealed ANSI pump without reworking the baseplate or piping.
- Inexpensive insurance: For services with any risk of running dry, specifying the DryGuard bearing option is inexpensive insurance.
