SRL Severe Duty Slurry Pumps

The Goulds Model SRL is the original rubber-lined slurry pump, developed for the most severe and abrasive slurry duties. Field-replaceable rubber liners and a robust, oil-lubricated cartridge bearing assembly give it a reputation for reliability and long life on punishing services.

  • Resilient rubber lining: Rubber lining answers abrasion differently from hard metal: the resilient liner absorbs particle impact rather than resisting it, which works especially well on fine, sharp solids.
  • Field-replaceable liners: Because the liners are molded and bonded to a metal skeleton and are field-replaceable, worn wet-end surfaces are renewed without replacing the whole casing.
  • Heavy-duty rotating assembly: An oil-lubricated cartridge bearing assembly engineered for very long bearing life pairs with a large-diameter steel shaft and a hard-coated shaft sleeve over a stainless base.

Good to Know

  • A family of variants: The standard SRL uses a large-diameter open impeller, the SRL-C a closed impeller for somewhat coarser solids, the SRL-XT adds extra-thick rubber for extended wear life, and the SRL-S fits a Shearpeller for froth-laden and stringy slurries.
  • Liner technology options: Larger sizes use an FRP composite hybrid liner, and a Ceramic-Rubber Media (CRM) option is available where rubber alone is not enough.
  • Sealing flexibility: Shaft sealing can use standard or low-dilution seal water arrangements or a mechanical seal, so the pump can be configured around how much dilution the process tolerates.
  • Know the limits: Rubber-lined pumps suit fine abrasive solids; very coarse or tramp material is better matched to hard-metal designs.
