Wafer Check Valve
The SLV Wafer Check Valve is a compact non-return valve that clamps directly between pipe flanges, using a pair of spring-loaded plates to stop backflow. Its short body and fast, spring-assisted closure make it a space-saving, low-slam alternative to conventional swing check valves.

Good to Know
- Vulcanized rubber seat: The seat is rubber, vulcanized directly onto the valve body, which gives a resilient, tight seal on suitable media.
- Check elastomer compatibility: Confirm that the elastomer suits the fluid and its temperature.
- Two D-shaped passages: The plates split the bore in two, so allow a little more pressure drop than with a full-bore valve.
- Inspect the springs: Springs are the working heart of the valve and set its closing behavior, so include them in periodic inspection.
- Size for full opening: Correct sizing, so the plates are fully open at normal flow, keeps flutter and wear to a minimum.
